The Department of Computer Science, established in 1989, has been committed to excellence in computer science education, research, and innovation. To meet the growing demand for advanced computing professionals and researchers, the M.Sc. Computer Science programme was introduced in 2025. The programme is designed to provide in-depth knowledge of advanced computing technologies, analytical thinking, and research-oriented learning, thereby enabling students to address complex real-world problems.
The department offers a strong academic environment supported by six fully air-conditioned computer laboratories equipped with 250 computer systems, high-speed internet connectivity, modern software tools, and uninterrupted power backup. The department also manages the software and hardware infrastructure of the entire institution, ensuring exposure to real-time computing environments.
The programme encourages students to develop research aptitude, analytical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving abilities to address real-world computing challenges. Students are well prepared for careers as Software Developers, Software Test Engineers, Web Developers, Data Scientists, AI/ML Engineers, System Administrators, Cyber Security Analysts, Database Administrators, Research Associates, Academicians, and other computing professionals in government organizations, multinational companies, start-ups, and research institutions. The programme also lays a strong academic foundation for pursuing Ph.D. programmes, interdisciplinary research, and careers in higher education.
