- The Department of History was established in the year 1983 as one of the subjects at UG level i.e., B.A-HEP (History, Economics and Political Science).
- The Department runs an Add on course-Tourism and Travel Management for all the Under Graduate students.
- To enrich vital skills of the students the Department organizes seminars, workshops and special lectures by inviting reputed and eminent persons.
- The student centric methodologies are followed such as field trips, study visits and project work.
- Conducting in-house competitions such as essay writing, quiz and elocution on various occasions is a regular practice of the Department.
- To inspire and infuse nationalistic feelings among the students birth anniversaries of national leaders are celebrated regularly.
- Students are trained to take up projects and monographs.
- The Department provides guidance and material for the students to appear for state and central competitive exams.
- Financial support is also extended to the economically backward students.
- Collecting feedback from the students on curriculum and teaching is the regular practice of the department and the suggestions are implemented where ever necessary.
- Alumnae are included as members in the Board of studies and their views are considered in updating the syllabus.
