Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell

The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship program launched by the Government of India to empower higher education institutions to contribute to the sustainable development of rural India. SDMSMK UBA-Cell has assembled an inter-disciplinary team of faculty and students. UBA allows students and faculty to redirect their energies toward measurable objectives. We are mandated to work through the Institute's network of available units to carry out initiatives in rural areas. This cell is responsible for implementing and coordinating UBA activities, with a strong focus on fostering sustainable rural development. SDMSMK has adopted following five cluster villages under Kankipadu Mandal, near Vijayawada.

·         Kolavennu

Vision

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India and to have a paradigm shift in academic and research programs of the country. SDMSMK UBA CELL aspires to bring about changes in the five adopted villages.

Mission

The Mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. SDMSMK UBA CELL will enable the adopted villages to build sustainable, self-reliant villages through knowledge, Technology and community participation.

 Goals

·         To identify the amenities through Household survey.

·         To interact with the community and gather insights into the basis infrastructure and social issues

·         To create opportunities for self-help development in sectors like Education, Health, Sanitation, Water, Agriculture, Self-employment, Women empowerment.
