WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CELL

          The college has established Women Empowerment Cell on 28th, Aug, 2010 on the campus to provide the students and the staff an awareness on issues related to women and their legal rights. The cell was started with the aim of empowering women, to help them recognize their true potential and to attain financial independence in this competitive world. The cell seeks to mould the overall development of the students in all spheres of life. Further the cell provides a forum for dialogue discussion and deliberation on women issues to get rid of their inhibitions and misconceptions.

          The cell also aims at empowering women on physical, mental and emotional planes to withstand all kinds of challenges in life. It is the added aim of the cell to enable women keep up their self –esteem, improve self-confidence and cultivate decision making ability. The cell aims at achieving women empowerment and social upliftment by encouraging employability and entrepreneurship. To achieve this, the cell arranges skill oriented training programs to the needy free of cost through EDC.

 OBJECTIVES:

The Women Cell functions with the following objectives:

  • To make Women staff and students aware of their rights.
  • To facilitate redressal of their grievances.
  • To help them to know the importance of good health.
  • To develop decision making and critical thinking ability.
  • To be self-reliant.
  • To protest against gender discrimination.
  • To develop an overall personality.
  • To keep up self-esteem and have self-confidence.
  • To provide employability through career guidance.
  • To enhance their competence in their chosen field for a better career and living.
  • To help live with respect, dignity and satiety.
  • To motivate them to explore their potential to the fullest.
  • To help them realize the importance of women for a healthy society.
   FUNCTIONS OF THE CELL:
 To safe guard the rights of women.
  • To arrange seminars/Lectures/Workshops by experts and eminent personalities on women issues such as health, hygiene and environment.
  • To provide a platform for listening to their complaints.
  • To cultivate hygienic habits and ensure a healthy atmosphere in and around the college.
  • To conduct meetings regularly to facilitate speedy delivery of justice.
  • To work for the overall development of women besides academics.
  • To conduct rallies by way of protest.
  • To conduct surveys for data collection, suggestions and recommendations.
  • To conduct cultural activities for exposure and showcase of their talent.
  • To involve the students in social service and environmental activities as responsible citizens.
